Oklahoma City Cater to Cowards Dentist

Oklahoma City cater to cowards dentist

Dr. Swearingen understands that sometimes people have had a traumatic experience with a dentist in the past that has made them fearful of dental care. If that is you, he wants you to know that he works hard to make your dental experience pleasant. He's even initiated some practices to help cater to his fearful patients.

Using caring gentleness and "The Wand" to cater to cowards

"The Wand" is a recent innovation that gives completely painless injections. It is called The Wand because of its shape. Most patients want a numbing agent when they're having dental work done. For some, though, the idea of a shot is equally as frightening as the procedure. When patients receive an injection with The Wand, they don't feel the injection at all. Generally it is the numbing agent itself that causes the pain with the injection. The Wand works by dispensing the medicine so slowly, with computer technology, that the patient doesn't feel it.

Dr. Swearingen and his staff are also known for their kind, gentle chairside manner. No one at the office will judge you for either your fear or the length of time you've avoided dental care. We are just happy you've entrusted your care to us, and we'll do everything in our power to give you a change of heart about dental care.

Using nitrous oxide to cater to cowards

Nitrous oxide, commonly called laughing gas, is a mild sedative gas that is mixed with oxygen to help relieve stress during your dental procedure. It is safe and convenient. Plus, unlike most sedatives, you'll be able to drive yourself home immediately after the procedure. Patients who find dental treatment frightening find nitrous oxide to be a valuable asset in relaxing them.
